Conspicuous Gallantry Medal QVOriginally established in 1855 to reward naval gallantry in the Crimea. The original medals used the MSM with the words Meritorious Service removed and "Conspicuous Gallantry" engraved in their place. Only 11 awards of this type were made and the medal fell into disuse.
