MickeyGebrder Thonet Vienna renews their collaboration with India Mahdavi: for the second year in a row, the unmistakable style of the internationally renowned architect and designer meets the Austrian brands emblematic curved lines, giving life to a lounge chair. In response to the invitation of the historic company Gebrder Thonet Vienna, India Mahdavi designed a new lounge chair, called Mickey for its characteristic ears that recall those of a mouse, a

elemental silhouette at a reduced scale

and another with a seat made from exposed webbing crafted from natural linen fibers

and a materiality that speaks to Resident’s deep understanding of timber

Its circular structure close to the ground invites to quietness

including solid oak and brass fittings

Circular elements fit together in a double circle that evokes the signature of the great master who designed it

it was stuck to the wall yet also nomadic and required no architectural or electrical intervention

rusted steel and brass structures are linked to each other by thin cilindrical bars and can rotate allowing the furniture to take on different forms
